Balto • Ghost Towns • Fanno Creek • $7

Balto is mercurial American roots music - song-driven rock’n’roll – a hair-raising live band from the Northwest – electric guitars and Hammond organs, dreamy walls of sound, an occasional Bonzo drum flourish, held down on bass by a former fighter with a deep admiration for James Jamerson,
This is a band formed the old fashioned way – chance meetings through friends of friends - five life-long musicians from five states, playing at the intersection of so many strands of indigenous American music – that tradition that runs from Son House to Sun Ra, from Mississippi John Hurt to the Alabama Shakes.

Ghost Towns is a high energy, twisted rock'n'roll band. Hailing from the NW, their music is rooted in the sounds of the 1960's Stones and electric Dylan, while borrowing from a wide spectrum of styles--from Gypsy punk to indie folk to doo-wop. Incorporating accordion, trumpet, violin and saxophone, the carefully orchestrated songs accompany lyrical themes of travel, discovery, wonder & the end of the world.
The band was formed in 2014 when songwriter Lukas Borsten assembled a team of friends/musicians for a weekend recording project in a cabin on the coast of southern Washington.

Hailing from Forest Grove, OR, the music of Fanno Creek is marinated in the rich folk singing traditions of Neil Young and Bob Dylan, but with a quickened contemporary indie-pop twist which highlights their vision and relevance.
