Alberta Street Pub

Open 4pm to 1amish Every Day

Re-established in 2013, the Alberta Street Pub is a complete remodel of the old neighborhood Public House. The kitchen serves up an inspired and locally sourced menu to compliment our craft cocktails and the 21 rotating draft beers. The Pub continues its tradition of friendly service with skilled bartenders, table service, a live music venue, and enormous heated patio. The venue side has been updated as well with a focus on acoustics and comfort. We offer one of the best listening environments in Portland with an intimate setting and a high quality sound system. Whether it’s bluegrass, jazz, folk, country, soul, or funk you’ll find something to love nearly every night of the week. Ask about our service industry discounts or discover our happy hour food and drink specials Monday through Friday from 4 to 6pm.

Tasting | American Whiskey

An unwise American once said “Tequila makes her clothes fall off”. Well, if that’s the case, then Whiskey makes her put them right back on and punch you in the face. Ahhhhhh Whiskey! Responsible for more, “seemed like a good idea” moment’s, than any other beverage in history, join us for an evening of pure southern hospitality as Jimmy Cookman introduces three top-notch American brands: Rittenhouse Rye, Woodford Bourbon and Dry Fly Washington Wheat. We may not live in Kentucky, but we can sure as hell act like it.  You must be 21 or older to attend. Please be prepared to show ID.

Producer | Jimmy Cookman

As a native, Jimmy has been a drinking enthusiast for as long as he’s been surviving the Portland winters. Going on over seven years behind the bar, he’s been a part of the local food and beverage industry since cashing his first paycheck from an old favorite, Nature’s. Two sides of drinks he knows inside and out are spirits and beers. Super delighted to be in the PNW, as he claims it’s arguably the best beer scene in the world (we don’t disagree), his favorite beer is like having a favorite song, but doesn’t hesitate for a second to claim tequila as his go-to.

Jimmy’s career once included brewing beer with Captured by Porches before deciding drink slinging was where he wanted to be, now loyal to Alberta Street Pub where he’s been for the last decade. Hands down it’s his favorite place (and one of ours, too) as it truly is the cornerstone of the community, having been there before Alberta was known as the Arts District. Remodeled three years ago, ASP was a friendly dive, transformed into a fantastic place offering great drinks, great food and great people -- like Jimmy.
