Music Critics and fans alike penned Holly Ann’s debut album ‘Ravens’ as “heartbreakingly beautiful.” Produced in 2010 by acclaimed producer and front man of the Indie rock band Copeland, Aaron Marsh created lush, string heavy arrangements around Holly’s sweet, soulful voice and her well crafted indie/pop songs- pulling inspiration from 90’s and early 2000’s demure songbirds such as The Sunday’s, Norah Jones, and Regina Spektor. ‘Ravens’ peaked at #3 on the singer/songwriter Amazon charts while charting on Itunes in the singer/songwriter category as well.
After a short hiatus from the music world Holly Ann is now working in conjunction with the Deeper-Well Gospel collective on her sophomore album. With producers Evan Way from the Parson Red Heads and Danny O’Hanlon from Bungalow 9 studios alongside Holly at the helm, this album exemplifies the personal and musical growth that comes from five more years of life experienced. Holly Ann’s signature lamenting tunes take a darker turn on this new record, tinged with moody guitars and droning piano sounds, exploring the depths of human depravity and the heights of spiritual peace. Clear influences for Holly Ann’s evolving sound include Fiona Apple, the Cocteau Twins and Cat Power. Holly Ann’s refined soulful vocals, broad musical influences and deep understanding of the human condition are sure to mesmerize all who take a moment to listen
Del Phoena is a voice in love with the world—and the playground and therapy of artist Phoebe Spier. Following her collaborative pop debut with Zach Dunham (Condition White) and their 2014 EP titled “My Young Explorer,” Del Phoena is shaping her next release but is in no hurry. Today, she’s pairing the pipes and lyrical gospel for which she has become known with more pop/rock/gospel sounds, playing with dynamic/ambient percussion and enjoying the creation of art for and with people. She’s enjoying the journey and prays the same for you.
