The band, whose name is Latin for “while I breathe, I hope” is feel good, frantic folk complete with fiddle and musical saw. There is also some foot stomping involved. Banjo/guitar player and vocalist Bowie Johnson sings lyrics ranging from natural disasters to lovers that smell like gin, bassist Craig England Jr bring the movement and lends a hand with the voice, while violinist Rafael Rangell and musical saw, accordion player Anthony Yousko’s instrumental arrangements flirt with so many genres from celtic folk balladeer to surf rock.
Sprouting from the fresh grave of the San Diego band Cain Street, Big Sid and the Wiggle began its adventure in the summer of 2012. You know who Big Sid is, and the wiggle well, the wiggle’s in the giggle and the wiggle’s in the water. With lyrics to ruffle the masses and rhythms to move them asses, Big Sid and the Wiggle make music to satisfy the soul. It’s small stream, still clean, flowing, and drinkable. It's punk rock, hip not, groovy like Rasta. It’s out there, in here, and guilty as charged.
