The kitchen serves up an inspired and locally sourced menu to complement our craft cocktails and the 21 rotating draft beers. The Pub continues its tradition of friendly service with skilled bartenders, table service, a live music venue, and enormous heated patio. The venue side has been updated as well with a focus on acoustics and comfort. We offer one of the best listening environments in Portland with an intimate setting and a high quality sound system. Whether it’s bluegrass, jazz, folk, country, soul, or funk you’ll find something to love nearly every night of the week. Trio Subtonic w/Michal Angela • Ocular Concern • $7

Trio Subtonic has developed a style of original music that is defined by its compositional intrigue, groove heavy improvisations and its accessibility to listeners across the musical landscape.  Trio Subtonic features Galen Clark on keyboards, Bill Athens on bass and Russ Kleiner on drums.  For this show Trio Subtonic will be teaming up with guitar legend Dan Balmer.

The listener will find funky, groove-oriented sounds, acoustic ballads, and gospel-tinged instrumentals. Trio Subtonic’s “populist” take on Jazz means that just about everybody digs what they’re doing. Best of all, this record is “designed” well, making for a diverse listening experience from beginning till end. –Matt Fleeger, KMHD

Occular Concern

The Ocular Concern presents a new album of contemporary music composed by co-leaders Dan Duval and Andrew Oliver.  The album’s centerpiece is a four-movement suite for the quintet plus string trio and bandoneon inspired by the globalized world of the 21st century and based on the names of Portland’s sister cities worldwide. The album features the group’s wide ranging stylistic aesthetic, tied together by an emphasis on strong interlocking grooves, catchy melodies, and intuitive group interplay.
