The Family Almanac is happy to have you and insists you take as much as you need. When you're here you're family, and when you're family you're here to have a good time. Their songs are catchy, as fanciful as they are sincere, and they're sure to have you singing along soon.
Del Phoena is the oracular folk-pop group based in Portland, Oregon. It’s the newest project of singer-songwriter Phoebe Spier and her collaborative partner, Zach Dunham, whose wide-ranging talents, interests, beliefs and intuitions keep them ever-expanding and contracting, creating new experiences for listeners. Opulent or stark, heartbreaking or soul-freeing, disciplined or playful, provocative or vulnerable, Del Phoena embodies truth in song through a modern, sophisticated sound.
Like most great ideas, Del Phoena started as an inkling and a whisper from within. While on a self-imposed creative retreat on the banks of the Santiam River, Phoebe and Zach carved their years of previous collaboration to find her living in the marble. Using the rest of their time in the woods to write the songs that are now the debut EP, My Young Explorer, they recorded during the spring of 2014 and spent the summer touring the United States, spreading Del Phoena's lyrical gospel.
Phoebe Spier (powerful lead vocals and guitar), Zach Dunham (harmonies, keys, guitar), and Andy Harmsen (drums and percussion) will be joined by special guests for this performance. The band will also be releasing a second pressing of their recently sold-out debut EP, My Young Explorer (2014).
Lush straightforward songs; driven by keyboards and female voice….imagine a Siren playing a Wurlitzer. The delivery is easy, tender and genuine. Once a solo project LEO is now a full band with musicians coming from Jazz, Americana and Pop backgrounds to lay down a fuller realization and keep things a little wild.
