Beach Fire • Family Almanac • $6

Beach Fire is songwriter Sloan Martin's (formerly of Celilo and Steel Head) new band, his restless musical tastes and style have drifted once again. This time its more of a back beat exploration into soul, psychedelic pop, and even some disco. He challenged himself to write some material that even Portlanders could dance to. He enlisted former bandmate Tate Peterson on electric guitar (of the Rio Grands and the Resolectrics), Cary Miga on bass and Peter Qualtere-Burcher on saxaphone and harmony vocals (both of the jazz quarter The Includers), Ford Tennis (formerly of Sally Ford and the Sound Outside) on the drums. These folks come from a varied musical background and there explorations have only just begun!

The Family Almanac is happy to have you and insists you take as much as you need. When you're here you're family, and when you're family you're here to have a good time. Our songs are catchy and sincere, and we're sure to have you singing along soon. We're rich in 3 part harmonies, laid lovingly in a musical bed of lap steel, electric guitar, vintage keys. drums n bass.
